Caryn Harbour,
Candid Conversations’ President, has been preparing
for her role as a qualitative researcher all her life.
Growing up as an Air Force kid, Caryn quickly developed
the ability to adapt to a variety of situations. When
you attend elementary school in Belgium, middle school
in Virginia and high school in Germany, you learn to
integrate quickly.
Caryn’s professional career began at Foote,
Cone and Belding Technology Group on the account
side, but she realized early on her talents and interests
lay in planning and market research. Caryn spent the
next several years working as a planner at Anderson
Lembke and Winkler. After
spending most of her career within the ad agency realm,
Caryn decided to use the planning and moderating skills
she had acquired and her inherent people skills on the
supplier side of planning as a moderator. She spent
several years at Baccus Research, where
the focus was primarily on technology.
Lured back to the ad agency world, Caryn joined Mullen
Advertising, where she was a VP of Strategic
Planning and a Director of the marketing-to-women consultancy,
Frank About Women. With Candid Conversations,
Caryn uses all of her experiences to the benefit of
her clients which span from Wal-Mart to an independent
mushroom council, IBM and Microsoft to BMW and Cirque
Du Soleil.
